Becoming an APAC-BE shows commitment to the accessibility profession. 

APAC-BEs show a dedication to upholding the standards of accessibility and an ongoing pursuit of knowledge in the profession.

A national certification exam has long been needed in the accessibility profession, as requirements differ widely from state to state. APAC-BEs show their dedication to upholding the standards of accessibility, a commitment to superior professionalism, and an ongoing pursuit of knowledge in the profession. 

  1. Gain professional credibility. The APAC-BE credential provides an objective measurement of capabilities and competencies, proving the professional has the skills to do the job.
  2. Grow knowledge and skills. APAC-BEs, through continuing education, stay up to date with the ever-changing codes and laws. Clients will feel secure with the knowledge that their APAC-BE is staying abreast of the most recently updated industry information and techniques.

Vision

Establish, assess, and promote recognized certification of competence among accessibility professionals with knowledge and expertise in pursuit of compliance with accessibility regulations related to the built and physical environment.

Mission

Develop and maintain an accreditation process to verify accessibility professionals’ skills and knowledge of the accurate application of accessibility standards in project design, review, and inspection. The APAC Program encompasses multiple codes, regulations, and laws pertaining to accessibility in the built environment.
