Biography
Sandi has been a member of APA since 2014. Ms. Miles has 30 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, specializing in accessibility compliance projects over the last 20+ years. She owns her own firm located in San Diego, California. In addition to being a registered Access Specialist (RAS) in Texas, she is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) in the state of California and has served on the Certified Access Specialist Institute (CASI) Board in the role as Director of Public Outreach and Secretary. Additional certifications include Accessibility Plans Examiner and Inspector (ICC), certified ADA Coordinator (ADAC) and most recently has been certified by the Accessibility Professional Association - Built Environment (APAC-BE). Ms. Miles is proficient with 2010 ADA Standards, and the California Code of Regulations/Title 24 Accessibility Compliance for Title II and Title III projects, Fair Housing and ANSI A117.1. Her project management along with civil design background has required her to be proficient in the Public Rights of Way Guidelines (PROWAG) from the Federal Access Board, the Federal Highway Administration’s of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). She has worked on a variety of projects ranging from Title II Self Evaluation and Transition plans, public and private housing projects, public and private educational facilities and dormitories, prisons, medical and recreation facilities, work within the public right-of-way and provides training for Title II and Title III compliance.
